Smoked Sausage and Potato Bake

This dish is a hearty and flavorful one-pan meal. It features slices of smoked sausage and chunks of potatoes baked in a creamy and cheesy sauce. Perfect for a quick and easy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large oven-safe skillet or baking dish, arrange the sliced sausage and potato chunks in an even layer.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, chicken broth, dried thyme, paprika, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  4. Pour the cream mixture over the sausage and potatoes in the skillet or baking dish. Stir gently to coat.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the mixture.
  6. Cover the skillet or baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is melted and golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
