You’ll only need a few basic pantry items to get started. If you already have frozen shrimp in your freezer, you may use them instead; however, before coating them, you need to make sure that they are thoroughly defrosted.
THE INGREDIENTS LIST:
1 Pound.Of peeled and deveined jumbo shrimp.
⅓ Cup.Of all-purpose flour.
½ Tsp.Of salt and black pepper.
½ Tsp.Of Cajun seasoning.
2 large eggs; at room temp.
1½ Cups.Of Panko breadcrumbs.
1 Cup.Of cooking oil.
PREPARATION:
Step 1:
Mix the flour, salt, pepper, and Cajun spice together in a medium-sized mixing basin or shallow dish using a whisk. Cajun seasoning may also be used.
Step 2:
In a separate bowl (or dish), give the eggs a good beating until they are well combined. Spread the Panko breadcrumbs out over the bottom of the third mixing bowl.
Step 3:
To prepare the shrimp, dredge them on both sides in the flour mixture and then shake off any excess. After that, coat the shrimp in the egg mixture by dipping them in it.
Step 4:
To finish covering the shrimp in the Panko breadcrumbs on each side, flip the shrimp over and press the breadcrumbs into each side of the shrimp.
Step 5:
To cook the shrimp, heat the oil in a big saucepan to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius) and sauté the shrimp in small batches for approximately 1 minute, or until they are opaque all the way through. Be careful not to crowd the shrimp while they are frying.
Step 6:
To remove each shrimp, use kitchen tongs, and then place them, one by one, on a wire cooling rack that is suspended over a plate that has been lined with paper towels. Proceed with the rest of the shrimp in the same manner.
